The U.S. has been rapidly expanding its EV charging infrastructure. Between 2017 and 2023, the number of charging ports in the U.S. tripled from 52,500 to 184,000, with a goal of reaching 500,000 stations by 2030.(1) This goal is supported by legistlation like the The Bipartisan Infrastructure Law which allocates $7.5 billion to expand the charging network further.(3) Additionally, most EV owners charge their vehicles overnight at home, reducing the frequency of needing public charging at all. For most EV drivers, charging is simple and convenient.
