NECEC wrote today to state officials in New England and New York on behalf of the clean energy industry regarding COVID-19. In this letter, we shared recommendations for ways that energy leaders can mitigate the significant impacts the pandemic is bringing to our region, such as...

  • Reasonable accommodation of program timelines
  • Acknowledgement of essential clean energy business activities
  • Inclusion of clean energy business in economic support efforts

The clean energy industry is far from immune to the effects of the impending economic crisis. As such, NECEC is urging public officials to recognize the important role clean energy companies, many of which are small businesses, play in the local economy. State leaders can significantly mitigate the financial implications these businesses and help pave the way for recovery by following the recommendations outlined in the letter.
